The need for reliable monitoring across diverse infrastructures
As an IT services company, we manage infrastructures distributed across various client sites, with heterogeneous machines and network configurations. To maintain high-quality service, we needed a monitoring solution that could handle this diversity while remaining proactive.
Secure data transmission and effective incident management are essential to prevent service degradation.
In this context, we needed a solution capable of identifying issues before they impacted our clients’ operations.
Our approach
Zabbix: proactive and centralized monitoring
We deployed Zabbix, an open-source solution that allows centralized and efficient monitoring of multiple environments. We structured the monitoring system using dedicated groups per client with remote proxies deployed at each site to optimize data collection.
Zabbix agents were installed on critical equipment to monitor key indicators such as CPU load, memory usage and service availability. Alert thresholds were configured to notify our teams of potential anomalies, enabling rapid response. Each client has access to a personalized dashboard offering a clear, real-time view of their infrastructure’s health.
The various sites were interconnected via WireGuard VPNs.
Results
Anticipation is everything
By implementing proactive monitoring with Zabbix, we are now able to better anticipate and reduce the number of critical technical incidents affecting our clients. We can also resolve them more efficiently thanks to automatic anomaly detection.
This setup enables us to maintain consistent service quality while freeing up time for continuous improvement initiatives or personalized client support on other projects.
